OSRAM Sylvania selects Tactician Online® (formerly Mapscape.com) to power its
web-based Distributor Locator Implementation
ANDOVER, Mass. - December 14, 2000 - OSRAM Sylvania has selected Tactician Corporation's state-of-the-art
Tactician Online online mapping and analysis system to support an online Reseller Locator capability offered
at the OSRAM Sylvania web site, www.sylvania.com.
The Tactician Online Locator system offers visitors to the OSRAM Sylvania web site the ability to locate
the closest reseller of OSRAM Sylvania lighting products to a visitor-entered location.
After supplying a ZIP Code or a city/state, selecting the search distance (in miles), and specifying the
lighting product (Business Lighting, Home/Personal Lighting, etc.) or lighting reseller type
(Do-It-Yourself/Home Center, Grocery/Supermarket, Lighting Distributor, etc.), Tactician Online lists the
closest OSRAM Sylvania Distributors meeting the visitor-supplied search criteria, ranked according to each
distributor's distance from the location entered.
Next to each distributor listing is a direct link to an individual, interactive street-level map of the
distributor location. Visitors are offered the ability to pan, zoom in/out, and resize the map.
"Adding the Tactician Online Locator to our web site is designed to make it easier for our residential
and commercial customers to find the closest and most convenient location to purchase the specific type of

The 100% browser-based online system allows an organization to establish its own 'business rules' or
criteria for determining how many, from how far, and which category of locations qualify to be returned as
the result of a search around a user-specified position. "Any organization with stores, branches, agents,
distributors, etc., can use Tactician Online to help its online visitors find the right products from the
