Advanced New Features Boost Productivity of Tactician’s
Territory Management and Optimization Solutions
ANDOVER, MA – April 18, 2005 -- Tactician Corporation, the leading

and investment decisions, today unveiled new advanced data analysis and territory
display capabilities for Tactician® Territory Manager and Tactician® Territory
Optimizer. Tactician® Territory Manager is a tightly integrated system
of desktop and online solutions for the interactive creation, alignment and
management of franchise or field sales territories. Packed with all the features
and functionality of Tactician® Territory Manager, Tactician® Territory
Optimizer also contains a powerful sales force optimization model that automatically
optimizes geographic components to an unlimited number of territories. Both
territory solutions are built on Tactician®One, the company’s recently
enhanced open architecture smart marketing technology platform.
The new features now available in Tactician® Territory Manager and Tactician® Territory
Optimizer give franchise marketers and/or field sales managers the ability
to:
- Import Data Directly Into Territory Documents
For even greater ease of use, this feature allows users to import data
directly to the detail sheets of a territories document. Users balancing
or optimizing a territory can import all records in an unassigned
territory detail sheet and reallocate as necessary.
- Intuitively Manipulate
Data
Users can use a new summarize command for more sophisticated data
manipulation. For example, data and address information can be
summarized to provide average, maximum or minimum values for franchises
or field sales representatives in a specific ZIP code. This can help
users to assign territories by geography. Data about the same locations
or territories located in different documents can also be easily consolidated
into one new convenient document.
- Selectively Display and Analyze Territories
New commands and system variables enable users to create highly selective
displays of territories. Using these tools, analysis operations can be
conducted on subsets of territories. Tool tips also now allow users to
display the number of components added or removed from each territory.
Tactician’s territory management and optimization solutions boost the
productivity of franchise marketers or field sales managers by integrating
three primary territory tasks. First, they organize existing point-based territories
(retail stores, home-based businesses, key accounts) or geography-based territories
(postal code) by displaying them in real-time on high quality maps and in
a unique, comparative spreadsheet. Second, they allow analysis of territories
(including factors such as workload balancing and travel time minimization)
and interactive alignment using map-based point-and-click tools, resulting
in optimized geographic deployment of resources. Third, they enable execution
of optimized territory plans via online dissemination to franchisees or field
sales representatives, while allowing for interactive online fine-tuning and
adjustments.
