Traffic Counts
The MPSI® TrafficMetrix® data includes in excess of 1.5 million traffic counts for
over 1,000,000 unique traffic data points across the U.S. It covers all areas and all
types of roads, from freeways in the nation’s largest metropolitan areas to roads in rural areas.
TrafficMetrix data is updated on a quarterly basis with information from almost 6,000 sources
nationwide.
Data variables include:
- Distance from the Site Location
- Street
- Cross Street
- Traffic Count (vehicle volume)
- Count Type
- Year (year in which the count was taken)
New! TrafficMetrix 10.2 now available!
MPSI® has just released an update to its TrafficMetrix® product, version 10.2,
containing 1,265,511 traffic count locations. Note that 13,990 data points were added
or updated for this release. The geographies updated in this release are:

454,523 of the total counts in version 10.2 are dated Year 2005 or more recent.
Also note that this release contains the twelfth group of counties that have been
realigned through the TIGER® Accuracy Improvement Program (a program used to improve
the alignment of traffic data to the street networks). The number of realigned counties
for this release is 113, bringing the total number of counties realigned thus far to 2,365.
