Using $Select in Calculate
The new Calculation interface has an expanded list of functions that are available for your use. One of the most powerful manipulation tools in the tool kit is the $Selection Calculation function. This function allows you to set a particular expression or filtering criteria and when the calculation is performed it will select all the records in the dataset that meet the filtering expression.
Once selected the items are ready to be copied and pasted into other Tactician One documents or into the clipboard for pasting into Excel or other programs. It is a very fast and easy way to create subsets of your data or provide other users with all the records that are a particular type or value.
To use this function, place the $Select function in the Calculate into Variable area, set the value to 1, and build the expression in the expression area. Click OK and look to see the selected items in the dataview. Use the copy and paste to move the data to other documents or programs.
